Conexión Brutal is born from the enthusiasm and collective effort of YoTuba, for this concert we decided to count on the collaboration of Michel Godard, Jon Sass, Abe Rábade and Ton Risco, excellent jazz musicians whose suggestions contributed to shape the arrangements of the concert.

Excellent professional, appreciated and respected by all who worked with him, magnificent musician endowed with an exquisite ear, René was above all a sincere and generous friend, always willing to participate in any project that was proposed, however farfetched it was.

La Notte was our last collaboration, an intense and magical day, shared with Miguel, Andreas, Samuel and all those who participated in the recording, will remain in our memory. We will also keep the memories of the preparations for the recording, and the 300 steps that gave access to an overwhelming natural scenery, endowed with excellent acoustics.

Exhausted by the effort made throughout a very intense day, the farewell was brief ... a hug and as usual he said goodbye friend.

Excelente profesional, apreciado
y respetado por todos cuantos trabajaron a su lado, magnifico músico dotado con
un oído exquisito, René era ante todo un amigo sincero y generoso, siempre
dispuesto a participar en cualquier proyecto que se le propusiera, por
descabellado que fuera.

La Notte fue nuestra última
colaboración, queda en el recuerdo un día intenso, mágico, compartido con
Miguel, Andreas, Samuel y todos los que participaron en la grabación, quedan en
el recuerdo los preparativos de la grabación, y quedan en el recuerdo los 300
escalones que daban acceso a un escenario natural sobrecogedor, dotado de una
acústica excelente.

Agotados por el esfuerzo
realizado a lo largo de un día muy intenso, la despedida fue escueta… un abrazo
y el consabido hasta siempre amigo.

Learning from Sergio Finca at the CONSMUPA. Thanks Sergio!!

On December 21, 2018, the tuba students of the CONSMUPA had the opportunity to receive advice from Sergio Finca Quirós, currently member of the magnificent brass quintet Spanish Brass. Versatile interpreter, endowed with a devilish technique, deep and mature musician, Sergio is, from my point of view, one of the most interesting tubists on the music scene.

In his classes Sergio transmits with ardor and exigency his passion for music, his respect for the score and his extraordinary capacity for the musical expression. It was a pleasure and an honor to enjoy for a day the company and "savoir faire" of a true master.

El pasado 21 de diciembre de 2018, los alumnos de tuba del CONSMUPA tuvieron la oportunidad de recibir los consejos de Sergio Finca Quirós, miembro en la actualidad del magnífico quinteto de metales Spanish Brass. Intérprete versátil, dotado de una técnica endiablada, músico profundo y maduro, Sergio es, desde mi punto de vista, uno de los tubistas más interesantes del panorama musical.

En sus clases Sergio transmite con ardor y exigencia su pasión por la música, su respeto por la partitura y su extraordinaria capacidad para la expresión musical. Fue un placer y un honor disfrutar por un día de la compañía y saber hacer de un verdadero maestro.

Perry Hoogendijk... the teachings of a Master!!

Magnificent musician, excellent pedagogue, great connoisseur of the orchestra and tireless worker, Perry Hoogendijk is much more than that. Capable Able to transmit all his knowledge in his classes with rigor and precision, without falling into the easy flattery, Perry, at the same time demanding and patient, endows his classes with great dynamism and energy, infecting the students with his enthusiasm.

Organized by YoTuba, with the valuable collaboration of the CONSMUPA and Opera Prima, the Master class, taught from November 10 to 13, 2017, gave us an opportunity to learn, to share table and experiences with one of the current references in our instrument.

From here, I would like to thank the CONSMUPA, Opera Prima and YoTuba for the magnificent opportunity they have given us to enjoy the teachings of a Master.

And of course…. Thanks Perry ... Let's Keep in Touch!!

 Magnífico músico, excelente pedagogo, gran conocedor de la orquesta y trabajador incansable, Perry Hoogendijk es mucho más que eso. Capaz de transmitir en sus clases todo su saber con rigor y precisión, sin caer en el halago fácil, Perry, a un tiempo exigente y paciente, dota a sus clases de gran dinamismo y energía, consiguiendo que los alumnos se contagien de su entusiasmo.

Organizado por la Asociación YoTuba, con la valiosa colaboración del CONSMUPA y de ópera Prima, el curso, impartido del 10 al 13 de noviembre de 2017, siempre es una oportunidad para aprender, para compartir mesa y experiencias con uno de los referentes actuales en nuestro instrumento.

Desde aquí agradecer al CONSMUPA, a ópera Prima y a YoTuba la magnífica oportunidad que nos han brindado de disfrutar de las enseñanzas de un Maestro.

Master class with Gabriel Capet at the CONSMUPA

Auspiced by the Erasmus + program, Professor Gabriel Capet will be at CONSMUPA from March 13 to 17, 2017. Throughout the week, the CONSMUPA students will have the opportunity to attend several individual and collective classes. They will receive the advice of an excellent professional trained in the French tradition. It is a pleasure and an honor to receive him at the CONSMUPA Tuba and Euphonium Studio

Gabriel CAPET begun music in the "municipal wind orchestra of Bully-MAZINGARBE" conducted by Raymond BOUDRY. After classical studies (Conservatoire de Lille, OFJ, Académie d'Orchestre de PARIS, CSNMD de Paris), his infatuation for eclecticism led him to interact across different musical universes. His interest for small brass ensembles made him play with ensembles such as: QUINTE JUSTE brass quintet (winner of the Menuhin Foundation in 1986) and the TUBA quartet "Tuba Yaga".

TUBA player of the military orchestra "MUSIQUE DES GARDIENS DE LA PAIX DE PARIS" from 1986 until 1994, he often played with famous french symphonic orchestras: Opéra de Paris, Opéra de Lyon, Orchestre National de Lille, de Bordeaux Aquitaine and big bands: Bekummernis (conductor Luc LE MASNES ) Multicolour Feeling Fanfare Eddy LOUISS and with the big band of the Conservatory of Lille (conductor Denis BADAULT Laurent CUNY ) .

Today, he is member of «l'Ensemble Patchwork»: a swing-wing group who’s aiming to promote the Tuba through different styles of music and formations. On several occasions, Gabriel CAPET plays with brass ensembles such as: brass ensemble of the CNR de Lille, "SUR MESURE"-brass ensemble, the brass ensemble of Orchestre National de Lille and the "EUROBRASS ENSEMBLE" and « Aeolus brass-Band ». He also performs as a soloist with wind-bands such Calonne Ricouart, Villars Bonnot, with brass Bands: Brass-Band from 43° RI, Brass-Band Nord-Pas-de-Calais, OCA Brass-Band, Brass-Band Aeolus.

Willing to share his passion and experience, Gabriel teaches at the "Conservatoire Royal de Liege, CRR de Lille and in the music school of Calonne Ricouart (in twenty five years, he taught at 250 different students 30 became professional musicians or teachers).

He also participated at international summer schools like EPSIVAL or the international academy of Dinant. He organised different events such as "Rencontres inter-régionnales de tuba" , with his friend Thierry THIBAULT or “Discovering the TUBA” with Marc Steckar and P.Legris, “TUBA meets cello” with the Danel quartet, TUBA meets Improvisation” with Didier Havet and J. Deregnaucourt, “TUBA meets French horn” with T.Lentz.

Today, Gabriel CAPET continues this musical way by commissioning creation of contemporary musical pieces from Thierry MEURISSE or Arnaud BOUKHITINE and by participating in the development of Willson 3400S Eb tuba FA-5.
